Care and important notes

Clean with cold to lukewarm water and a mild, eco-friendly washing-up liquid. Water above 60 °C melts the wax.
Do not put in the dishwasher, oven or microwave.
For hygiene reasons, avoid direct contact with raw meat, fish or egg.
Store in a dry place, for example in the drawer with your tea towels.

How do I close the bag?

Simply fold the opening over once or twice and press with warm hands. The wax sticks to itself and keeps the bag securely closed – no velcro, button or zip needed.

What is the bag good for?

For whole loaves of bread, salad, watermelon and large snack supplies – and for anything that would otherwise end up in a plastic box or single-use bag. It is also at home in the fridge and freezer.

The bag doesn't stick properly – what can I do?

In cooler regions like Europe, the wax can be firm at first. Knead the material firmly a few times or warm it briefly between your hands – it will soften and stick much better. Important: the surface needs to be dry.

Can I put meat, fish or eggs inside?

No. Because it can only be cleaned with cold to lukewarm water, the material is not suitable for raw meat, raw fish or eggs for hygiene reasons.

How do I clean the bag?

Just like a plate: wipe with a sponge or cloth, cool water and a little mild washing-up liquid, rinse and let air-dry.

How long does the bag last?

The waxed canvas is much sturdier than a thin wrap: with proper care, the bag will stay with you for up to five years.

Is the bag compostable?

Yes! At the end of its life, simply cut it into thin strips and add it to your home compost or organic waste bin.

Does the material have a smell?

Freshly unpacked, it has a pleasant beeswax scent. The scent is completely natural, does not transfer to food and fades over time.
