Simply place the wrap over or around your food. The warmth of your hands will soften the wax, allowing the wrap to mold around the item or container, creating an airtight seal that protects against air and bacteria, keeping your food fresh.

For best results, use a wrap that is larger than the item you are covering:
🔹 A small wrap should completely cover a sliced onion or lime to be effective.
🔹 When covering bowls or plates, the wrap should extend at least halfway down the sides of the container to create a successful seal.

🚨 Important: Avoid heat! Do not use Beeswax Wraps in the microwave, oven, or near open flames, as high temperatures will melt the wax.

How Long Do Beeswax Wraps Last?

With proper care, Beeswax Wraps can be reused for up to two years. Follow our recommended cleaning guidelines to extend their lifespan and avoid contact with hot surfaces or water over 60°C, as high temperatures can melt the wax and reduce durability.

Storage Tips

Between uses, store your Beeswax Wraps carefully—ideally in a drawer with your dish towels. We like to keep ours in a basket in a closed, dry place for easy access.

How to Clean Your SuperBee Beeswax Wraps

Cleaning your Beeswax Wraps is super easy! Just like washing a plate or bowl, simply wipe them down with a sponge or cloth using lukewarm water and an eco-friendly dish soap.

✔ Gently clean with a sponge or cloth
✔ Use warm (not hot!) water
✔ Rinse off any soap residue
✔ Air dry before storing

1️⃣ Place the wrap on a baking tray.
2️⃣ Heat it in an electric oven at 140°C (284°F) for 2–3 minutes until the wax melts.
3️⃣ Remove it quickly and hang it up to dry.

Can You Freeze Beeswax Wraps?

Yes, you can! ❄️ Beeswax Wraps can be frozen and thawed multiple times, making them perfect for storing:

✔ Sliced fruit (great for smoothies or baking)
✔ Leftover vegetables
✔ Bread

Since Beeswax Wraps are breathable, there is a slight risk of freezer burn if food is stored for more than a month. To maintain freshness, we recommend consuming frozen items as soon as possible. 🍃🐝

My Beeswax Wraps Aren’t Sticking – What Should I Do?

In colder climates—especially in Europe and North America—Beeswax Wraps can become stiff and may not stick as easily. To fix this, try:

✔ Warming them up by massaging them with your hands
✔ Crumpling them into a ball several times to soften the wax

This should make them more pliable and sticky! 🐝✨

What Should I Do When My Hexawash Reaches the End of Its Lifespan?

Once your Hexawash weighs less than 80g, you can give it back to nature! 🌿

Simply bury it in your garden—the organic cotton pouch will biodegrade, and the magnesium will enrich the soil, acting as a natural fertilizer to support plant growth. A truly zero-waste solution! ♻️🐝

How Long Does Hexawash Last?

Hexawash offers incredible value for money—unlike traditional detergents, it lasts for over 300 washes, which is at least a year’s worth of laundry for most households!

You’ll know your Hexawash is reaching the end of its lifespan when its weight decreases.

✔ Before first use: Hexawash contains 120g of magnesium and weighs around 150g.
✔ Over time, as it cleans your laundry, the magnesium gradually dissolves.
✔ When the pouch weighs less than 80g, there isn’t enough magnesium left for a full wash cycle.

At this point, you have two options:
1️⃣ Reduce your laundry load by 50% and continue using Hexawash for a bit longer.
