What is loofah?

Loofah is a plant from the gourd family. When dried, its fibrous interior remains – a naturally sponge-like material. Our loofah comes from Thailand and is combined with 100 % GOTS-certified organic cotton; the fabrics are offcuts from our beeswax wrap production.

A project close to our hearts: the sponges are crafted together with the One Sky Foundation, which supports displaced women and families from Myanmar. Your purchase does more than just clean.

Is the exfoliation suitable for sensitive skin too?

The fibres are soft and become even more supple in water – the exfoliation is gentle. As with any exfoliation: start with light pressure and see what feels good for your skin.

What is loofah, actually?

A plant from the gourd family: its dried, fibrous interior is a natural sponge – entirely without plastic. Our loofah grows in Thailand.

How do I care for the sponge?

Rinse well after every use and let it air-dry – loofah dries quickly and is then immediately ready to go again.

How long does a sponge last?

With good care, about four months. After that, it can go entirely into your home compost or organic waste bin – it is fully biodegradable.

Who makes the sponges?
